OVERVIEW | History | AWARDS | LOCATION
Back in 1957, retired farmer John Spader started renting and selling travel trailers from his farm in Oldham,
South Dakota. At first, most customers were a result of solid relationships Mr. Spader developed while selling
livestock. However, word quickly spread over weekend campfires about the value, integrity and happy experiences
Spader's RV delivered.
Inspired by his father's success, Duane Spader, the tenth child in the Spader family, set out in 1964 to sell
mobile homes in Brookings, South Dakota. It wasn't long before Duane found his way into the RV world. Over
time, he earned recognition from Nu Wa Industries and Avion as one of the leading pickup camper dealers in
the nation. After his father retired in 1967, Duane transferred the Oldham location to Brookings.
With opportunity in mind, the entire Spader's RV business eventually moved to its present location along I-90
in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Today, Tony Spader, the third generation of Spaders, leads the way, ensuring that even as one of the largest
and most diversified RV companies in the region, every customer receives the very same old-fashioned,
family-style service that started it all.
